Yassiel's Experiences

At First, my name is Yassiel Mendieta, I belong to the Alfredo Canton High School from my 7th grade. When the teachers of the center choose me I was in 9th grade in that school. That school is near of the CESUFAM and for me the transportation wasn’t difficult.

I am going to talk about my experience from the first interview until the actuality in this wonderful place.

I remember that my grandmother said me an address for the interview but the address wasn`t correct, I was scared because I thought that I lost the opportunity to have this scholarship but the director called me after waiting two hours in the incorrect place and I talked with the teachers and I thought that it was difficult for me because it was after the school but my mom said me that it was a good opportunity and I said her Ok and I just do this if I would be accepted in this program.

When the teachers called me to say me that I was accepted for this program I remember I said my mom I can’t do it but my mom said me cheerleaders words and I believed in me. From this day the story began in my life.

I consider this experience like the best in my life and I can’t change the decision that I took with the help of my mother because I could share with others students, I could learn more about English, computers and my basic life skills. Also, this center makes me a special person because this opportunity is unique and it is a privilege to belong to a good company like this.

I believe that I have learned in these three years too many things in this center that I couldn’t learn in others places because this center is unique in its way of teaching because it has professional teachers.

This center is very important for me because:

1. I meet new friends who help me when I need, they stand by me in the bad or god moments, with them I learned to understand others persons, I share with them excellent moments. For example when we went to the Summit Park, The Museum of the interoceanic canal and others places like these.

2. I have learned to speak English with more fluency but also I learned to write and read in English.

3. I learned about the computers, I remember that I only know to do a word document for homework and copy and page of the internet. But, actually I fell proud because I know new thing that in my life I never thought.

4. I couldn’t speak in public before, because I always had nervous but it changed because I lost the fear of get wrong.

5. I knew new places that I never visited in the past and this experience is so exhilarating, because this places are in my country is bad that I don’t know them.

6. I knew new persons that teaching me different values.
